Why should you watch this video?

Have you ever looked at a design and thought… “Hmmm… I think I’ve seen this before.” Well maybe you have, but in a different form. After all, creativity is often inspired by a design that already exists!

In this TED Talk, Kirby Ferguson explains that many things involving creativity is a remix. Whether it is songs being written or technological design, the creative process involves taking old ideas and creating new things out of the old.

Who is Kirby Ferguson?

Kirby Ferguson describes himself as a Filmmaker and a Remixer. He created the four-part video series called Everything is a Remix which you can find on his website here. You can also find him on Twitter.

Kirby Ferguson pushes for the idea that those who do not intentionally copy something should have protection, the same way that a copyright protects original works.
